Moirai Jolly
Black English Angora buck, Moirai Jolly. He had chewed his coat badly when he was younger, so it does not have the length we like to see at 7 months. But, he has lovely type. -

Angora Rabbits in Playpen
2 English Angora does who are litter mates enjoy a romp in a playpen. The playpen is a portable exercise pen for dogs. An indoor/outdoor rug has been placed under the pen to protect the rabbits' wool. The pen was placed inside a fenced area to protect the rabbits from unwanted visits by other animals. -

EA doe in two inch coat
My new REW English Angora doe after having had her two inch post-harvest coat blown and brushed. -
Blondie, Best In Show
Me with Blondie in 1997. (I am much more wrinkled and fat now.) My son was still a little boy, and he went with me to the show in Western Oklahoma in August. He helped me groom the rabbits and put them on the table (open classes). We were tickled when our doe, Blondie, was selected for BIS. -
Pearl colored English Angora junior
Pearl is the dilute of the sable gene. When sable or pearl are combined with agouti, you get ermine. Ermine may appear white with dark eyes. I don't know if this has changed, but ermine is not an approved color. Nonetheless, I used a couple of ermine rabbits that were otherwise of excellent conformation, with good results in my herd. -

QB's Peace
This REW doe was my daughter Georgia's first all breed BIS winner. Peace had amazing density and was a sweetie. She was sired by a buck we got from Betty Chu and was out of a doe bred by Donna (Hildebrand) Rose. (Apologies for the poor quality of this image.) I wish to emphasize that my daughter and my son did all of their own Angora Rabbit grooming. We homeschooled, and the rabbits were part of their curriculum. I showed my own rabbits in the open classes, and I disapprove of parents who compete in the youth classes. -

Fangs McCoy
When I got him in October 2012, the longest parts of his coat were perhaps 3 inches. His coat now measures 6 inches. I keep his bangs out of his face with a ponytail holder, but I took that off for this photo. -
Fringe on Feb. 8, 2013
I normally keep his bangs up in a ponytail, but took it out for this picture. He is such a sweetheart. -

I am happy with how his coat has developed. -
Fringe, March 2 show
Everything you need to show an Angora. Get to the show room very early, so you can set up camp by an electrical outlet. (Make sure the outlet works.) Bring a power strip so that others who need electricity for their own blowers can plug in too. Of course, if the weather is nice, you should bring a very long extension cord so you can set your blower up outdoors. -
Wooly face
This is why I keep Fringe's bangs in a ponytail when he is at home. -

Kelfla's Florida
Here is a beautifully crafted photo of Florida, a blue English Angora doe, by her breeder-owner, Kelly Flading. -
Type: side 1
Here is a sheared doe of good English Angora type. (She is not perfect.) The red circle is to illustrate the words of the Standard, "Top line should rise from behind the ears to a high point over the hips, then round down to the base of the tail." -
Type: side 2
Here is a sheared doe of good English Angora type. (She is not perfect.) With wool, the rabbit, according to the Standard, "should resemble a round ball of fluff when properly posed." This doe is Moirai Missy, who was Best of Variety from the junior class at the 2014 NARBC national show. -
Type: rear view
Rear view of a sheared doe of good English Angora type. (She is not perfect.) This doe is Moirai Missy, who was Best of Variety from the junior class at the 2014 NARBC national show. -
Type: hocks
Most of the points are on the wool of the English Angora, so when we select our breeders, we tend to go with the ones who have the densest coats. Consequently, it can be difficult sometimes to find them with really correct hocks. This is a nice set of nearly parallel hocks. -
